The first PRA, written by Emily Edwards, Rosalie Goldsmith, and Caroline Havery, discusses four design principles they used in developing discipline-specific academic language tutorials for students entering tertiary studies with low academic English proficiency. In the second article, Tim Edwards focuses on students’ experiences in face-to-face, emergency online, planned online, and blended modes occurring before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic and situated within an English for specific purposes (ESP) program. Plus, Charlie Taylor and Chen-Li Huang’s paper examines whether implicit pronunciation teaching in Duolingo is as effective as a human who teaches pronunciation in the classroom.
