The 35th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of English Australia Limited will be held online on Tuesday 29 October 2024 from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm (AEDT).

Hosting an AGM is a legal obligation of any company with more than one member. For an AGM to meet legal requirements, more than 50% of all voting members must be represented in the meeting (a ‘quorum’).
To support English Australia in achieving this AGM quorum, we urge all members attend or arrange to be represented at the AGM.
Please note that because each Member of English Australia Limited is a Member Centre (i.e. a college) and not a ‘natural person’, it is necessary for each Member to appoint a person to represent the interests of the Member at the Annual General Meeting.
Each Full Member can nominate its executive leader or owner or nominate a representative from within its organisation to attend and perform this duty at the AGM. Each member college is welcome to have multiple staff members attend the AGM, however, only one representative per Full Member College can be the nominated representative and vote at the AGM.
To appoint a representative, please complete the appointment of a representative form and return via email to easec@englishaustralia.com.au by Thursday 24 October 2024.
If you are unable to attend or appoint a representative from your college to attend, you can appoint a Proxy from another member college. Should you need assistance in appointing a Proxy, you could contact a member of the Board of English Australia (contact details here) or contact Ian Aird (ianaird@englishaustralia.com.au) for assistance.
To appoint a proxy, please complete the appointment of a proxy form and return via email to easec@englishaustralia.com.au by Thursday 24 October 2024.
Required action:
Complete and return either the Appointment of Representative form or the Appointment of Proxy form by Thursday 24 October 2024.
It is also appreciated for record keeping if non-voting attendees who plan to attend the meeting can complete and submit the Appointment of Non-Voting Representative form. This can also help each member clarify who holds the Full Member voting responsibility.

The English Australia 2024 Annual Report, including the Chair’s report, the CEO’s report, the financial and auditor’s reports, and the Directors Declaration, has been published in this email and can be downloaded via the button below.
We encourage members to read the report prior to the AGM.
